Recently, Digital Air Strike published a report on its website that detailed the huge increase in consumers’ use of social media to research car sales and to buy cars. The report asserted that “The majority of car buyers said they consider review sites as ‘helpful’ in their decision as to where to purchase a vehicle…and that 24% of consumers consider online review sites to be the ‘most helpful’ factor, exceeding all other factors including the 15% of car buyers who consider dealership websites ‘most helpful.’
The study also showed that review sites are becoming increasingly important in organic search. In fact, car buyers use the same sites in their searches 13% more than they did just six months ago. According to the study by Digital Air Strike, the most popular review sites are (61%) (54%), Google+ Local (37%), Yelp (14%), and Yahoo (11%). These numbers are tangible proof that people are using social medial to review car dealerships and find their next new or used car purchase.
The Digital Air Strike study also claimed that there is a 43% probability that a car buyer will search for a local car dealership on Facebook’s Graph Search. The study revealed that 67% of car buyers use their mobile devices to check out local car dealerships and other businesses around where they reside.
